2011, in a nutshell

I created a Facebook page for LJH Photo + Design. I've been working on posting some of the interesting photos I've taken over the past year there. Go check it out!
2011 has been a busy year for me. I work as a part time Creative Developer for Humana. I'm in charge of updating Humana's internal company wide news website, Humana Today. I format photos and content for posts on there, so I spend a lot of time working with Photoshop as a part of that job. I'm part of the Corporate Communications department, and I photograph events for Humana, take head shots of folks that work there, and various other sundry creative tasks.
I worked with another one of my clients, Universal Woods, this year helping them take photos for a new version of their product catalog. We built a small studio set up with strobes and soft boxes, which allowed us more creative freedom with the shots. Their creative department is still working on the catalog layout, so I hope to post some shots of the finished product here when it is complete.
I got to work with the Kentucky Derby Photo Archives team shooting the Kentucky Derby this May, which is always one of my favorite things to shoot.
In October, I taught a photo workshop for kids at the Main branch of the Louisville Free Public Library, which was a lot of fun. We provided the kids with digital cameras and they photographed architectural details and the grounds of the branch. The creative department at LFPL printed out some of the kids' best shots and put them on display in an exhibit in the Teen Underground.
I put together a team of some of my photographer friends, and we participated in Connect at Bernheim Forest, and I took photos at Bernheim's Colorfest event this year. Bernheim Forest is one of my favorite places to take pictures.
Lastly, my husband and I visited the Grand Canyon in October, and I took tons of photos there. If you like nature photography and have never been there, I highly recommend it.
2011 has been an exciting year for me, and here's hoping for more good stuff in 2012!
